Connor stared up at the clouded sky, his mind trying to finally take a break from the stress of everyday Shadowhunter life. It seemed to never leave no matter where he ran off too. Sometimes it'd be off to Chicago or New York or Idris, but the feeling always remained.
The feeling on loneliness.
Connor sighed, turning on his side, the grass grazing over his clothed limbs. He looked out at the water, as if he could find out why the world was so messed up just by looking at the water. He shook his head, reaching over and dipping his finger into the water and twirling it around, making rings ripple out across the calm surface. It seemed like that always happened. Something was calm then something happened and messed it all up.
"Well, I could make a list longer than a mile of everything I've messed up I suppose," he thought a bit sourly. Connor pulled his finger from the cool water and rubbed it off on his clothes before rolling back over in the grass and looking up at the sky.
Calmness seemed like a cloud. There, but too far to grab. His eyes searched over the over-fluffed, gray clouds--his chest starting to ache again. Slowly, he rolled back to his side, grabbing his rib. They'd been hurting since after his training in New York for a while. Connor was supposed to go back soon, but he hadn't even shown signs of leaving again.
"Yeah, because if I go back there I have to deal with everyone again. And everything for that matter too..."
