After years of moving from one town to another, Jordan was back. He'd missed Maia dearly, but he knew she would not be happy to see him. He'd given her over twenty years to simmer down and hopefully she wouldn't be to bitter. After all, he'd given her immortality.
He was at her apartment building now. He ran his fingers through his hair and analized the place--buying time. The building was tall, with big glass windows. He knew what apartment she lived in, he'd been watching her for days. Almost like stalking pray.
He pushed himself--mentally--forward. He opened the large glass doors and strode into the building as if he owned the place. Through the years he had gained much confidence, and a "I'm better then you" personality. Choosing to go up the elevator rather then the stairs he set off. Floor three came fast enough, and now all he needed was to get to room 350.
He walked slowely willing his mind to think about Maia. He'd missed her so much over the years. He hadn't even had another girlfriend since. He remembered the way the sun hit her dark hair and made it shimmer. How her skin was always tanned no matter what season it was. Her voice ran through his head, this was a memory of her saying 'I love you'.
Now motivated Jordan moved faster. 330, 335, 340 he spead up. Finally reaching 350 he tried to calm himself down. Once calm he knocked on the door. No answer. He knocked again. The door opened and revealed the face he'd been dieing to see. A smile spread accross his lips. "Maia! I've missed you." By the look of shock on Maia's face, she had clearly not missed him back.

Maia was waiting impatiently for her pizza to get to her apartment. It seemed to be taking forever. The guy on the phone had said that it would be here in thirty minutes or less, but it felt like it had been an hour already. Maybe if the delivery boy was late enough she wouldn't have to pay for the pizza. She glanced at the apple shaped clock on her wall. Ugh it had only been ten minutes. Maia didn't know if she would be able to last another twenty. Deciding to have a quick snack, she went into the kitchen to search for something. But one glance in her fridge and a look in her cabinets made her remember why she had ordered her pizza in the first place; she had no food.
The entire contents of her refrigerator was probably spoiled, gone bad, or expired. Abandoning her futile search for anything edible she turned around and surveyed her kitchen. It wasn't impeccably neat but it wasn't disgustingly dirty either. Just to give herself something to do, she started washing dishes. Her dishwasher had broken months ago and she kept forgetting to get it fixed. She didn't really mind washing them by hand, but it would save her a lot of time. Although it was only her living here so it wasn't like she really needed one or anything.
Maia shook her head, finished the dishes, and stopped her internal babbling. She went back into the dining room to check the time again. It had only been seven minutes since the last time she had checked. She looked around for something else to do and figured she might as well continue on with her cleaning. So she straightened pillows, folded a few blankets, rearranged the stuff on her coffee table, and threw away some old magazines. She checked the clock again. Aha! It had been eleven minutes, her pizza would be here soon.
She sat down in her newly tidy living room and turned on her TV. It was Wednesday night and there was nothing on. After her pizza came she would probably head down to the video store to get a DVD. Maia sighed,it was so time for her pizza to get here. Just after switching off her TV, someone knocked on her door. She got up and looked through the peephole, and almost stopped breathing. Jordan was standing outside of her apartment. Jordan knew where she lived? She contemplated pretending she wasn't home but decided against it. What Jordan wants Jordan gets. And right now he wanted to talk to her.
"What are you doing here Jordan?" Despite all that had happened, she couldn't help but be surprised at how good he still looked. Maia swallowed and pushed down any good/not hostile feelings towards him. "How the hell do you even know where I live? You haven't been following me have you?" But Jordan didn't care about her, he had made that quite obvious, so then what was he doing following her around? Damn, why couldn't he have just been the pizza guy?

Jordan's eyes lit up when he saw Maia, in his eye's it had been way to long. "Well silly, I came to see you. And no I haven't been following you. Have you not heard of phone books? They're really great I've re-connected with a lot of people but I've found that this time I'm a lot more nervous." He smiled.
Maia had obviously not been expecting Jordan, but she looked like she was waiting for someone. The old Jordan surfaced and his jelous, overprotective self came out. "Are you waiting for someone? Maia, are you seeing someone?" he wasn't happy at all. [/size]

Jordan had always been a good liar, but this time Maia knew he was trying to deceive her. "My number isn't even in the phone book. So I'm asking you again, have you been following me?" She looked at him steadily in the eye to show him she wasn't afraid of him; he wasn't the only one who could trick people. When he smiled it used to make her melt, but now it only made her mad. He was a liar, a criminal, and not to mention a horrible boyfriend. Her blood was boiling because of his nerve to come here. He had no right. No right all.
Maia's mind flashed quickly to, and away from, Simon when he asked if she was seeing someone. She banished him from her mind, not wanting to have to deal with him and Jordan at the same time. "I really don't see how that is any of your business, Jordan." She wished that she had a boyfriend to show but, unfortunately, she didn't. "But, just so you know, I was waiting for the pizza guy. Who should be here any minute." That gave Maia a tiny ounce of comfort to know that someone else was on the way. Her and Jordan wouldn't be alone much longer.
